Back to the Basic (and Expert)?

I have recently been dabbling in D&D once more. I picked up Old School Essentials and also began rummaging through my D&D 5E (not 5.5E) rules to run a small campaign again, this time for some friends locally.

Have also been combing through numerous article and YouTube videos on Mystara, as I've gone back to it for the setting of my campaign.

I can really see the simplicity of the B/X D&D ruleset versus the more modern iteration of the rules, having run it a few times. However, we are shifting to D&D 5E for the next few adventures and we will see how that goes.

There's a conceit in the campaign that allows us to jump across rulesets, so this is the first ruleset jump that we're doing as we explore my version of Mystara.

Some explorations of Order & Chaos, Artifice (Law?) and Nature, and of course Matter, Energy, Time, Mind, and Entropy will ensue.
